Writing Cvs

College is over now for me, and it's come to that part in my life - I need to get a job On the plus side, all I need is a temp job for two months to get some dough together for uni

I'm going into Manpower on Monday, but the only problem I have is writing the damn Cirriculum Vitae to begin with Apart from the basic personal & contact details, education, past jobs () achievements & pastimes etc there's nothing else I can think of adding in (I know that supposed to be brief, but trust me when I say that this needs more meat on it ).

Any idea of what a good CV is supposed to have & look?

i can't tell ya how to write one cos im s**t at it, but what i can do is reccommend u a book, it gives u outlines of any type of cv where u basically just have to fill the gaps!!! "sample CVs for every type of job" - a description on front cover.
trust me it is really good, helped me out a lot and it gives lots of examples.

No more than 3 pages if possible, and use a simple type.
Start with your address, which schools and colleges, and list your grades.
Then follow it with hobbies and social activities.
Next a list of jobs, or volunteering work, from past to present. Give brief description of each, trying to use the words "team player", "willing to learn" and "self motivated". Include dates if possible. It looks better when you have no gaps in your working life, so if their is, make something up.
End it up by saying references are available on request.


If all else fails, try n get in the interviewers pants.

At the end of the day, they only use C.V's to skim through so they can question you about intrests. Its all about personality and confidence, of which you have plenty.

Honestly, I dont think prospective employers would be bothered with the finer points of your cv considering you're only going to be there for a couple of months. what you wrote in your first post is adequate because you will be hired, or not, based on your qualifications and then personality in any resultant interview.
