Thread: Kazaa Protector V1.0

  1. #71
hybridgraf (einstein/monkey O_o etc.), with the KzLock version 1.1 and above (including 1.1.2), I get illegal operations (9x)/stop errors saying that program needs to close (xp), with OR without KzLock installed. (If it's installed, and if I then run KL, I get "tmpA00.tmp has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.", but KzLock and systray icon open fine, but if it's not installed and then I run KL I get kpp.exe... instead.) I shall send you my kpp.exe for you to work out what's wrong.

    Bugs/suggestions:
    1. Now you can only double-clicking the KzLock systray icon to lock it, but not to unlock it.
    2. If KzLock is unlocked, and then you right click the icon to get the menu, and then you double-click the icon to lock it, the menu should either change to what it should be when it's locked, or be closed down.
    3. Maybe you can get rid of the Shut-Down menu item when it's locked??? (or at least make it an option whether you want a Shut-Down menu item while locked or not or something like that... and maybe also add an option whether you want Restart Kazaa and Config menu items while locked as well or not (but you still need password to get in) and also even About menu item while locked or not (as the siblings might find out what it is and complain and try to mess it up lol) and etc...)
    4. Maybe an option/way to start KzLock without starting Kazaa and vice versa even though both are still installed... (And also what happens if Kazaa gets uninstalled, does KzLock password protect that uninstall as well or not and are there options and etc.??? And if it does get uninstalled, does KzLock get uninstalled as well, or does it remain on the system but doesn't work or something like that???)

P.S. Thanx for putting my name in your About/credits box!!! B)

OK "Evil Betty" only now I have sent 2 copies of kpp.exe (both zipped, one with kzlock installed, the other without) to that kzlock@... E-Mail address, since I hadn't heard of it and only sent to the other 2 E-Mails (hybridgraf@... and messenger@...)...

And the thing is Kazaa does NOT work fine even after KzLock is uninstalled...

well I have founda massive flaw in your Uninstaller mate.

After creating it open KzLockRemove.exe with Notepad scroll to the bottom of the notepad and the last word in the file is the Password !!!

This is the latest KZlock I had when dling it. Oh well it is a BETA

    Buzz off basics!
Evil Betty, tested the newest test build. works like a charm.....as supposed to.
    3. Maybe you can get rid of the Shut-Down menu item when it's locked??? 4. Maybe an option/way to start KzLock without starting Kazaa and vice versa even though both are still installed...
even i wanted that shut down menu to go away at 1st but then i understood its beauty!! its really useful if u want to hide the system tray icon whilst Kazaa is protected. it wouldn't give ne reason for the siblings to be suspicious n if it was discovered, it would be protected neways Betty pls let that remain the way it is!adding restart menu or the config menu does more harm than good. how long is it gonna take u to enter in ur password? but i sure agree that the about box should be hidden(if its Ok wit Betty)bcoz the siblings could do a search on google or smetin n turn up wit smetin that mite help em get around the protector.i dont think ur 4th point is practical(as kpp.exe is patched)or required
(And also what happens if Kazaa gets uninstalled, does KzLock password protect that uninstall as well or not and are there options and etc.??? And if it does get uninstalled, does KzLock get uninstalled as well, or does it remain on the system but doesn't work or something like that???)
    yea wat really happens?
BTW Betty, while uninstalling, remember is spelt wrong n i think it would be better if it said 'Press enter to continue' (makes it easier for the newbies). I think u should rename the uninstaller to smetin more technical like Kzunins00 or smetin (a lil bit added security )
Lastly, i REALLY think u should get rid of the Lock Kazaa n Restart Kazaa from the config menu as it seriously aint no config(n besides its already there in the right click menu)
how far has the shared folder thingy come along? ne progress? sure hope so!

    Sarkie_2002:
Fine Fine, thanks for revealing where the password is stored!!! yes its a beta still so i didnt activate the encryption. NOW I DID.

    winXPHE:
Actually it is packed, it uses AsPack since its a bit harder to crack and better compression ratio with files larger than 400Kb, the best part is that it doesnt supply an unpack feature like UPX does.

I cant remove the items from the config dialog since it looks naked without them. Maybe Later.

I can shrink it down if i redooo the project on Masm32 insteed of Delphi but the GUI will suffer. I like a good looking app more than a small one some times.

Haa i see you understood why i made the leave locked feature and shutdown feature. thats the best way to go if you dont want your boss to see you downloading stuff on company hours. lol.

Sorry for the spelling. DAMN "NATURAL KEYBOARD" its all wierd. plus i wrote that with atleast 4 hours of sleep deprevation.

    General:
Added New "Mechican Patching Action" MUY CALIENTE lol

Kazaa and KzLock wont start toguether no more.
A shortcut will be created on the desktop that openes KzLock and Kazaa (if not already opened) and the old Kazaa shortcuts will load Kazaa only.

    Download KzLock 1.1.3

Well maybe Auto-Lock, Stealth and Change Password can be under the heading of Config, and Restart/Lock Kazaa can be under another heading like Options/Actions etc. (Maybe also add an option to change the Uninstaller password???)

    Other bugs and suggestions:
    1. Remember is still spelt wrong in uninstaller lol
    2. Menu still need to be made so that it closes while you click elsewhere without clicking on one of the menu items.
    3. Still double-clicking the systray icon for KzLock only locks it, but not unlocks it. (Maybe make some option to configure this???)
    4. Options to open up with kpp.exe/kazaa executable or not. (And other KPP/K++/Kazaa/Lite/Startup options etc.)
    5. Restart Kazaa... should be Restart Kazaa without the ..., because the ... symbolises more options in a new window/dialog box. (So maybe instead put About... and/or Config...)
    6. Make it so that you can't open multiple About boxes and also the box that confirms whether you want to leave Kazaa locked if you try to shut KzLock down while it is locked. (Also add an option to Cancel for that box, in case someone presses it accidently, and want to cancel instead. Also that box should be automatically closed if KzLock is unlocked before you press Yes or No.)
    7. Maybe an option/feature to confirm whether you want KzLock to be locked if you try to shut it down if it is unlocked. (Sometimes people forget/press shut-down by accident etc...)
    8. If you leave any windows (such as About box, Config box or Change Password box) open, and then you lock it throught the systray menu item, then they won't be closed. However if you lock it through the config, then it closes the config window only, not the about box. Therefore you should make it close all of those windows whenever it is being locked.
    9. If any of those windows are being "hidden" by windows of other programs, and if you try to bring it back up by using the menu items (Config/About), sometimes it doesn't come up, unless you minimise the windows covering it etc...
    10. I found it strange how if you open the Config box first, and then opening the About Box afterwards, you cannot click on Config to make it active again, unless you close the About box. But vice versa, if you open the About Box first, then the Config box, both boxes can be active. Also happens if you open the Change Password box before the About box and vice versa. (Once I had it so that I had Config/Change Password boxes open, and then opened the About box, but it actually opened beneath the Config/Change Password boxes, and I couldn't click on the Config/Change Password boxes to make them active, and I couldn't get to the About box either (I even tried opening both Config/About through the menu items again, but no luck). So basically I had to Shut-Down KzLock before I could have access to About/Config/Change Password boxes again.) So therefore you should make it so that only one instance of About/Config/Change Password/Shut-Down Leave Kazaa Locked Or Not Confirmation boxes etc. can be opened, and if any two of them are open at the same time, all boxes can be made active by clicking on them.

Hope you understand all that, einstein Evil Betty!!! B)

P.S. What did you say about the zero length thing??? Does that mean you didn't get my files??? Should I send them again???
