Thread: New Computer!

1. #21
It only has a 200 watt power supply. That is barely enough to run what's in the case already (not nearly enough in my opinion), any upgrade will take it over the top.

And last time I loooked HP machines don't take standard power supplies so that's not a good upgrade route either.

I can't say for sure about that particular pc, but I'm pretty sure HP motherboards aren't good for OCing either.

So do you think I should go with the Compaq to? The compaq has ddr sdram memory and the hp has ddr memory. also is 3000+ amd athlon noticably slower than the pentium 4 2.8Ghz.

Hp sucks ass

I rather get a Compaq
Ah, yes.
The ever popular choice;

"Should I get the plague(HP) or herpes(Compaq)?"

Kill yourself now. [/b][/quote]
You know I'd never buy a brand name pc.

but Compaq is still better than HP

If you really want to go through the pain then get a dell
Ohh noo!!! I make dribbles!!!

ddr is a form of sdram. It has two names: "DDR (ram)" and "DDR SDRAM". Same thing.

The processor is NOT noticeably different. You mat even see better performance in some apps than with the P4. But the P4 gives better performance in other areas.
P4 is also a lot more money.
