I have been useing Magic Folders for awhile, but it's starting to show it's age. I notice that you can still get the the files in safe mode.. even if they're names are scrambled and stuff.

presumably you want something that can hide your folders. Follow this link for some software http://www.steganos.com/Originally posted by Wolfmight@11 July 2004 - 02:57

I guess you're using 98 or something?
why not block all others acces to the folder?
great FTP site for awesome quality video clips
yeah, you have to sign up, but its worth it
Well I tend to leave my account open alot while people walk through my room and what not, so there's no telling one of the more savey friends might take a look at my private documents, etc.Originally posted by Storm@2 August 2004 - 12:11

btw, I'm gonna give safe 6 a try.
Maybe a password on a screen saver would be enough to discourage your savvy friends?
Btw I reckon everyone who says they want to protect their "private documents" from prying eyes is worried what others will think of their dwarf pr0n
Steg 6 is pretty nice. I use the Security Suite. The safe is cool, you can create up to 4-4gig partitions that are hidden. By hidden I mean they don't show up in 'My Computer' as extra drives until you open them. They're actually on the C: drive as a file. Damn nifty way to hide and encrypt files. It's fast to, I know since I store large files such as vids in it!btw, I'm gonna give safe 6 a try.
Just use a looooong screwy password and everything inside will be pretty safe. Once it's open you can drag and drop or anything else you'd do with a regular partition. when yer done, just close it and the systray icon and it's gone.

create an new account (has to have admin privileges)
pw protect it
now create folder with private documents, and limit acces to everyone BUT the new account
to view the documents, rightclick on internet explorer, and chose "run as"
then run as the new account
now type "c:" or whatever path you wanna goto
btw, if you wanna view the private documents in say, bsplayer, use the run as function on bsplayer
i use this techniek to install all my programs and such, and keep my comp safer from trojans (my work/play account is a limited account)
