How To Beat Riot Guards In Riddick?

I'm on the part where I can get onto a spaceship and escape, very near the end, but I have to fight 2 riot guards (mini mechs) I only have my shotgun, how do I take them out? I've never had to before, I've just evaded them, but now I have to.

well i think that u need to keep shoting one of them (in the back ) once one of them are dead take the mini-gun from him and kill the other one. I might be worng doe


or u can just run away u will only "HAVE" to fight one mech in the game (and its bigger than thoes riots gards)

My brother beat the whole game and he said to "grenade them, or shoot them in the back, if you shoot them in the front, nothing happens."
