I've noticed lately that most of my uploads are for the same file. As I'm sharing just under 1500 titles this can't be just happenstance, can it? For instance, right now out of 10 uploads, 7 are for Chicago (cd2 ). Is this a function of the K-Lite program? Does it target one user for many different searchers? It does't really matter, I'm happy to share this one file, I was just curious.

I know it's popular ( cause it's VERY good), but why then is no one uploading cd1?

Your version of CD #1 has a 1-byte/bit corruption (or WORSE corruption) that means it doesn't match typical searches for that file -- as the search would have to find you SPECIFICALLY instead of someone else before anyone who has already queued up that file would download from you.

In short, for CD #1, you are the lone sharer of that file while there may well be 100's of other people sharing an identical-sized file with a slightly different hash... meaning MOST LIKELY your copy is corrupt.

Your copy is probably only very slightly messed-up and may NOT even be noticeable on watching.

On the issue of OTHER files you're sharing and getting no search hits for -- are they well-named so people recognize them? If you're sharing a lot of pictures or MP3s with names like "1.MP3" or "porn.GIF" then the likelyhood of someone finding them via a search is NIL and anyone doing a browse host on you who finds you another way (perhaps you're downloading from them for instance and they're checking to see if you're sharing anything...) then they'd still likely be uninterested in them.

Interesting observations Switech, there is a minor glitch right in the very beginning of cd1, but...
the rest of my files are (I think) accurately described ( it seems as if I've spent days editing the data) and none of these responses has really addressed my original question. Perhaps I wasn't clear. While I can easily understand why a file like "Chicago" would be a very popular upload, just a couple of days ago I had a run on "Peanuts - A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving". Again, 7 to 8 out of 10 uploads would be for that file. If it was November it would make sense, but in March? I am well aware that I'm not the only person sharing that file, nor do I think that there's anything sinister going on, but I have noticed that uploads seem to occur in clusters larger than simple coincidence would account for. Maybe I just need to get a life and quit staring at my upload screen...
