Winamp 2 Or 3?

2.81 is by far the best. so simple and very quick.

Let's see... what's new in Winamp 3:

Positive:
1) Different better skin system
2) Ability to play video as well as audio
3) Supposedly better graphics
4) It's newer (for anyone who likes all new stuff)

Negative:
1) RAM Hog. Period. I have 512MB DDR RAM with a 1700+ Athlon and Winamp 3 does not lag, but other programs lag because of it.
2) Too many bugs and random crashes. I still haven't found out the cause to any of the numerous crashes till i uninstalled the program.
3) The new skinning system is trash just like Media Player's skinning system. And to think it takes my system resources...
4) The video playback is sh!t compared to video-only players like BSPlayer.
5) There aren't as many skins for Winamp 3 as there are for Winamp 2, especially good ones.

Winamp 2:
Positive:
1) It has been developed to v2.82 (about 20 updates), so it's pretty much bug-free
2) Compact, easy to use, takes next to no system resources

Negative:
1) Hard to manage playlists, but it's the same in Winamp 3

Therefore, Winamp 2 all the way!!!

Theres a new Winamp 2.9 now.

It should have the pros from version 3 without the new design, and all the bugs.

Ok, so maybe Winamp3 looks better, but Winamp2 runs a LOT better!

Well i would also have to agree winamp 2.81 is better then number 3.
easier to handle not as slow at start up.
But 3 will get better when they fix up some of the bugs and when it supports more Op systems

Get waves platinum on emule.
then get adaptx plugin.
Drink a beer.
Waves platinum 2100$
Cant get better.

Personally, i like really fast and simple players, Audio Active is da playa i've been using about 2 years now, really good and extremely fast plus you get those "radio-active" icons on the mp3 files, get one from http://www.audioactive.com/download/default.htm
or PM me and we do some bisnes

its a small zip, about 1,4Mb to dl.

And about WinAmp 2 or 3 ? I got them both installed and they are both slow responding players, and i got really slow puter here. I dont want to watch visuals on them, or in WMP, it takes way too much recourses plus im too into the music. First thing i usually do in any player is to disable them visual effects, they are not that stunning, and if they are, it only works once, maybe twice.

When i play mp3's, the palyer is 99% "behind" the windows or im not looking at monitor at all (passed out in the couch). I really dont need the visuals. For me this whole debate is interesting cuz i see things in totally different view. NOT necessarily the right way, of course.

Hope you find the right answer on this burning matter.

Winamp 3 is pretty cool in theory I was fanatic about it in beta stages but I really like Winamp 2 better. I like Windows Media Player 9 for simplicity and excellent playlists capabillities.
