    See if you have any luck with this SITE. Gives listings of games that are compatible. Also gives somewhat 'How To' remedies with some game issues, just review the site, you'll see what I mean.

    some good games for XP (im guessing 1st person shooter from your specifying Quake 2...) are:

    Unreal Tournament (UT)
    UT2003
    Quake 3
    Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast
    Serious Sam
    Serious Sam 2
    Star Trek: Elite Force
    Battlefield 1942
    Half Life (original)
    Counterstrike (expansion for HL)


    that's most of the popular one's that I can think of.....(not necessarily in that order.....)
