My copy of their first album has Eddie's fingerprints on it somewhere; I know this is true 'cuz he threw it at me from about 20 feet away.Originally posted by JONNO_CELEBS@18 July 2004 - 12:17

BTW-Plinth suits me fine, though sometimes I find myself desirous of a great sibilant Sssssssss..., and choose a word like, oh...specious.

I saw Jaco play with Weather Report, in Edinburgh.
He played Purple Haze (Harmonic Chords et al) on a fretless bass.
Before anyone says Jaco who, if you need to ask then the answer will mean nothing to you.
Doohhh, i will not go into a pastorian battle.......Originally posted by J'Pol@18 July 2004 - 20:48

Difficult to work out which is worse on their own.
Put them in context though and it is obvious.
Try "Come and sit on this ......".
Flange wins by a mile.
.Political correctness is based on the principle that it's possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.
I think Stanley and Jaco (now playing in God's band) had styles so different as to preclude comparison.
Particularly when thinking of Weather Report / Return to Forever.
If anyone is interested in listening to any of this stuff then I have a bit of shareage going on.
I think it is also impossible to do a Garry Moore / Al DiMeola comparison, they are both feckin geniuses to my mind.
Again plenty of shareage for the right sort.
