    Hey, B)

at the moment im on a big mission to sell my current PC (see specs below) and get a brand new gaming system.

The problem is i dont know what kind of processor i should get.

    Should i get

    a) A pentium4 3.2GHZ HT processor.

    or

    B ) AMD 64 2800+ (i might even go up to 3000+)

In terms of gaming which would be better for future games such as Doom III and HL2

I'll write my new desired system specs and prices later on, so i dont cram this first post up with to much info

    Thanks guys.....

    *more qusetions to follow*

Hmm...I would be very tempted to get a 3.2C and try to overclock it to about 3.6 or 3.7 with a XP-120, which hasnt come out yet, it will very soon though.

You could also get the 2800 and overclock it with the XP-120. I havnt heard much about the 2800 64s or any 64s when it comes to overclocking...but the 800Mhz FSB Intel chips seem to like it a lot

The only reason I would go with the 2800 would be the 64bit support...but I duno wait for more replys.

i would wait a couple of months before getting a new comp......... the stuff thats coming out will do a lot for gamers.......

first of all PCI Express of course (wait till you get boards with 2 x16 channels (2 video cards linked!!!&#33)
also, windows 64bit will be coming out, which means that we will see the true potential of the AMD chips....... till that time, its really to early to say anything bout the AMD's
