Thread: Testing A Xp

  1. #1
ok..so i got xp Sp1 off p2p..even burnt it onto a CD..now i already have a installation of XP pro sp1 on my system..so is there anyway to test if this setup CD wont hang up in the middle of an installation when i need to do a clean installation (incase i fuck up my PC) later?

Well you could always install it, but I would create a ghost image of my system first. Once you install SP1 again, you will have to do critical updates again. And why get it from P2P is you can download it for free from microsofts web site for free.

Try a repair install ? It leaves your program files intact ,but you'll have to update windows critical tho.

you virtually installed xp on a seprate partition or an an area of the HDD, you need plenty of ram and and around 2 gig space for the install.
