Thing is different companies use different measurements for their small, medium and large sizes. There is no real way of knowing, for example I know the medium in a Sonetti shirt will fit me perfectly but a medium in a Puma t-shirt will be like a crop top

Have a look at a pair of Jeans that fit you and see what size in inches they are, they are normally pretty standard, use that as a rule of thumb when looking for other clothes.

I know sizing is a little different over here, but at sixteen you are most likely out of kids sizes and into men's - best thing to do is go to a store and try stuff on to see what size you need.
