    whats this new ddr2 ram? shouldnt it be qdr or dddr? i saw it on the cover of PCPlus but couldnt afford it

    No it does not have to be the same brand, nor the same speed. However for best performance it is usually advised to match your ram as best as you can.

    EDIT note that if you have a stick of fast and a stick of slow ram, both will run at the slower speed.

    Well i wouldl ike 2GB of RAM would be nice to have you never know when couldcome in handy 2 sticks of 1GB ram, i cannot find any in the UK i think will just getthe other stick of samsung ram to match the one i got now.

    If so you can monitor your memory usage.
    I have 1GB of RAM installed and my free (unused) memory rarely drops below 750MB or so.
    2GB would be complete overkill IMO....not that there&#39;s anything wrong with that, but it&#39;s probably several hundred dollars that could be better used elsewhere.

    Twinmos makes 1gig pc2700 cas 2.5 sticks.

    Recently put another of those in my brother&#39;s &#39;puter.

    Dunno&#39; where to get it outside of scandinavia tho&#39;, since I haven&#39;t looked.

    When I am playing battlefield and minimize it back to desktop for a second it sayy like virtual memory running low...anyone know why...bf1942 dont take up 512megs of ram...
