Help Me Fix My Friend's Pc

my friend installed a window xp-home v, he doesn't have a legit serial so we installed a reset 5.02
everything had been working for over 1 month then after rebooting it today the pc was stucked at the login screen with this small window w/ only yes or no to click.
the small window will not dissappear after clicking either yes or no.
what can we do now, reinstalling xp is our very last option
