hi can any of you suggest the best firewall that doesnt conflict too much with aol and xp and isnt a system hogger?

Knowledge is Power
There is no "best" firewall, it is a matter of personal preference. I would recomend Sygate.

having probs getting sygate to be honest keeps on saying the file is missing a conponent and zone alarm i heard conflicted a lot with p2p files or something like that can anyone shed any light on this.
Also have downloaded kerio personal firewall at the moment till i can get something better can anyone let me know what they think of that?

I use kerio personal firewall too. I think it's great
Firewalls are much of a muchness. Just use the one that doesn't stop you from using other apps cause of the resource usage and detract from other stuff you're doing. The idea is for them not only to keep out the bad stuff but also not to interrupt what you're using your PC for with pointless beeps and alerts.
I plan on beating him to death with his kids. I'll use them as a bludgeon on his face. -
