I have been playing doom lately having good fps (usually 40-60fps) at medium settings 1024x768 when no monsters are on the screen. Then when I get to a part when I am shooting monsters my frsmerste goes to 60 to like 15fps! Anyways, can someone tell me how to overclock my card( for those of you who can't see my sig because of eye troubles, I have a GeForce FX 5700Ultra with stock fan)?

as opposed to OC'in anything else bearing no risk

    EDIT:

it all depends on how you go at it, what precautions you take ect........

if you OC in small steps, test, then OC another small step, your gonna be fine.......

if you OC your card by 200% at once your asking for trouble.........

Fuck no. I just want to overclock it a wee bit so I notice a reasonable performance increase.

If your carefull and have good cooling it really isnt too risky, just oc till you get artifacts then lower it abit then your fine. I just oced my rage 128 pro to 130/155 from its stock 109/109. All i did was slap a stock heatsink from a 2100+ and then oced as high as it would go. But I would be alot more carefull with a 5700U.

Let me rephrase that, what exactly do I have to do to overclock my video card?
