i used dvd decrypter and it ripped fine. Try playing it with a dvd player on your computer first. Sometimes they need to do this before they will rip. Smartripper and dvd decryter should do this for your, or tell you to.

Smartripper works 100%, but you need to learn the program. Nothing happens without some patience and research. Instead of jumping from software to software, try spending some time following a tutorial found online. Are you trying to put the DVD into your CDROM drive? That can be a problem...

I have not tried to copy XXX but I've used smartripper on over 150 movies, and it hasn't failed me yet.

I haven't ripped that many. However it has worked every time for me. Not even the slightest problem.
