VB would be nice if you had an old devils own key to try . Put that question to rest about sp2 installing on pirated cd's. Yes. My computer did exactly the same thing. The first time I clicked it and nothing happened so I clicked it a couple more times and my Windows crashed. The second time I clicked it once and waited... It took a while and then the details window opened.
I'm doing a test install. I just removed my hard drive and put in a blank drive. I'm installing the Windows XP Corp (without SP1) and then trying this SP2 file. I'll tell you how it goes in a while.
Good idea but... Too bad it's too late. I already passed the point where it asks for the key. I guess I'll try that next time.
That's weird. I downloaded mine from emule also. Mine shows 6:06:58 AM as you can see from my post above. When you downloaded yours was it called WindowsXP-KB835935-SP2-ENU.exe? Did you use Entity101's hash?Originally posted by AndrewBarker@8 August 2004 - 08:42

Hi all,
Windows XP Home
IE6/Firefox 0.8
Sorry if the issue of Firewalls (SP2) has been discussed here, I looked but didn't see anything on the subject.
My concern with SP2 concerns the associated Firewall that will be installed with it.
I use ZoneAlarm and have always read that you should disable (which I did) the Firewall that comes with XP (Home in my case) because of conflicts that may arise between using two Firewalls..
I'm wondering if the two Firewalls can work together or will there be a way to disable this SP2 Firewall like you can now in Windows XP?Originally posted by Microsoft
"Among other changes, the new system automatically turns on a Windows firewall to better guard against attempts to infiltrate personal computers."
FYI....here's a recent article from Friday's CNN.com.....Microsoft Releases Free Windows Upgrade
As of this morning (Sunday August 8) SP2 was not yet available using Windows Update.
I'm going to wait a few days before installing once it is available.
I'll be interested in reading all of your comments once you've used it for a while.
Thanks,
mrlessk
Blame this guy if anything goes wrong....
Hey guys. I have figured out the discrepancy Between the timestamps.
You'll never guess...
If you change your clock timezone the time in the timestamp changes.
I set my timezone to Greenwich Mean Time and then the timestamp shows: 11:06:58
Who would have thought...
