Automatic Updates

ok i go to control panel>performance and matenince>system>then automatic updates tab to turn on automatic updates. well everything is greyed out for some reason. i had it on before but i dont know why its like this. i have a legit xp home. how can i enable automatic updates? thanks

Sounds like the service is turned off.

Go to run , type in services.msc
in the services list, highlight automatic updates
right click, choose properties
change the startup type to automatic
on service status, click on start.

now check your settings in control panel ...automatic updates tab
