    i took out my floppy drive but everytime i load windows it re-installs it and shows it under my computer. also it gives me an error everytime i shut my computer down about the disk is not accebile in drive A, the floppy drive, but there isisnt even a floppy hook-ed up in my computer. how can i permanently delete all this floppy crap?

    Enable the report no floopy drive for Windows in BIOS.
    There isn't a bargepole long enough for me to work on [a Sony Viao] - clocker 2008

    Instead of removing it from the device manager just disable it there.

    Yeh i did this and clockersaid just disable it in device manager

    u gota disable\remove it in the bios.

    Rossco you don't i just removed mine a few weeks ago.

    Step 1: Unplug Floppy Drive and remove cable.

    Step 2:Go into BIOS and change Boot Priority so ita CD-ROM then Hard Disk i think it goes or other way round just do not have Floppy there.

    Step 3:In device manager do not unistall it becuase Windows XP will just detect itagain when you boot up (well did when i did it) just disable it and you are all done.

    if u disable it properly u won&#39;t need to do the last step.
