Best Codecs + Video Player

Right now ive been using Windows Media Player with Divx codecs.... seems to play pretty well but I was wondering if there are possibly better choices out there ??

if it helps out at all heres my comp specs

CPU = AMD Athlon XP 2600+ (333mhz fsb)
RAM = 512mb Corsair XMS PC3200 DDR400
Video Card = ATI Radeon 9500 128mb
Windows XP Pro SP1

i don't know about codecs but try using VLC or vidoe lan player. Everything i have thrown at it works fine....it is miles ahead of windows media and all the others. you'll easily find it on kazaa. just type in vlc. it isn't a big file either so it won't take long to get.
