I am a newbie in web designing, I want to install either Fireworks or Photoshop or even both of them on my PC for my web designing needs. I would like to know from you guys which one is better and why.
Thanks for your anticipated suggestions.

I have only ever used photoshop. Didn't take too long to get used to due to there being 100s of tutorials out there.

yeah photoshop is cool
I tend to prefer Photoshop because it isnt as bubbly and shiny as Fireworks.
But if you are familliar with the Macromedia interface, them fireworks might be good for you, as it is set up accordingly.
It all depends on whether you want to deal with bitmaps or vectors.
Most people prefer Photoshop because you can do more graphically (or what I like to call "fancy crap" ) with it. However, if you like things clean and simplistic then Fireworks's vectors can be a lot better to use
In the end though, it's your choice - No-one else's
Fireworks is easier but Photoshop is better
