what fans should i get if i'm OCing a 2500 to a 3200?
and is this over clockable?
my friend said that Amd XP, 99.99% will be made after week 39, so it is locked and can not be overclocked unless it is a Mobile model.

That processor already comes with a heatsink and fan. The multiplier is locked but if you have a halfway decent motherboard you can still change the FSB. By making the FSB 200, you will have effectively made the 2500+ a 3200+. If you plan on doing this you obviously need PC3200RAM, crucial and crossair is always the best.
yes that processor, a good mobo like the abit nf7-s or something is great, try to get nforce 2 chipset, and some pc3200 ram.
then, although the multiplier is locked, u can overclock it to 3200+ speeds.
some people, one that i can think of, has\have had trouble getting it to 3200+ speeds...but millions of people have got it to work so don't let that get u down.
either way a 3200+ will give very very little better performance over the 2500+ anyway.
is this a good choice for a motherboard
and Ram for overclocking and stuff
if you think other ram or motherboard is better please tell me
Both are good choices. I can't say anything against them.
So if your going to overclock a FSB333 to a 400FSB dont you need a 400FSB mobo? or can you stick with a FSB333 and o/c there?
Both are excellent products!Originally posted by Monkeee@14 August 2004 - 17:29

You should have no trouble whatsoever getting to 3200+ or even higher speeds.

It makes good sense to get a 400FSB mobo.Originally posted by Spock4@15 August 2004 - 18:09

You may be able to do it with a 333FSB mopbo, but then you are overclocking the chipset too. Why bother when 400FSB chipset mobo's are about the same price anyway?
.Political correctness is based on the principle that it's possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.
I am using Abit KV7 mobo and 2x256mb pc2100/266mhz. so i need pc3200 for better OCing?
