i've always used winamp 3.0 since it's been out. i love the crossfader option. everytime i try a new winamp ver it never has the crossfader option. is there a way (or is it in there and i just can't see it) to use the crossfader with ver 5.04? also, is there any sound quality differences between 3.0 and 5.0? thx.

Yes, there is a way. Some skins have access to the crossfader (The default "modern" skin included), but if you want total control over it, go to preferences, and the output plugins section, and configure the DirectSound Plugin (make sure this is your default output plugin of course), and go to the fading tab. Have fun!

also, if you want to configure it in the modern skin, it's located in the equalizer drawer (on the bottom), right under the speaker balance adjustment.

I personally can't stand any winamp version before 5.0...the ones 5.0 and after are my favorite mp3 player though.

ah, I remember using Winamp since version 1. I downloaded an mp3 file, and had no idea what to use to open it (new to computers). After much searching, I finally found winamp, and fell in love. Been using every version since... including 3. And I have no idea why people didn't like version 3. I thought it was great.

well, yeah, mostly. But, I'm big into skinning and stuff, so eye candy really matters to me.
