Hi to you all, and thank you for answering.
I am using Windows XP Prof

First I have used Spy Sweeper and it says all clear, so does Ad-aware 6, so does Spybot Search,
However Norton Antivirus 2004 Prof shows that I have "winsrm.32 dll" in my system 32 and says "delete," I say OK and it says "Delete Failed"

To CTPAYC
Thank you, I opened that site, but being 76 years old on Sept 2nd. I am just too dumb to understand it!
Cheerio.

Or you can use delete doctor to delete it in several ways, such as DOS.

Thank you SaYiaN . I have Windows XP Prof and I cannot get into safe mode. I have tried pressing F8 after rebooting and before windows opens, but it does not work.
If you are going to be nice enough to show me how to get into safe mode. Then perhaps you might also show me what to do when I get there?
Thank you and Cheerio

u gotta get the timing right...just keep pressing f8 over nd over repeatedly until it works. if it doesn't then, do u have a usb keyboard?

once ur in safemode u browse to C:\windows\system32\ and find that file (winsrm32.dll) and delete it.

lol nice tip ROSSCO_2004
Look at the "NUMLOCK" and the two lights beside it (caps/scroll lock), when they all flash simultaneously, then press F8, do it quickly though.

First downlaod Process Explorer and extract it somewhere.

Then click "Find Handle" button

Type in the DLL file name..
