Well i just tested it with side off and fansstill on and it still gets warmer for me i prefer side on. Depends on type of case suppose
What about noise. I can't believe that nobody mentioned that it will be louder with the sidepanel off.

The average open pc case would be an irresistable temptation to my 10 yr. old son..He would be more than happy to rewire or Mod it for me(scary thought)..He's dying to build a PC with me (maybe xmas)
