Thanks, that solves that, the question is: should I fill the bucket with water, or just give it enough to keep it's gills moist?Originally posted by SnnY+16 August 2004 - 22:27--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td>QUOTE (SnnY @ 16 August 2004 - 22:27)</td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'>Originally posted by manker@16 August 2004 - 23:23

Errm, slight lapse of brain power, what do they breathe?
Ah wait, they breathe air I think, but need to keep the gills moist, so they need water too.
I did it right then
They breathe the disolved oxygen in the water, it's extracted by osmosis when it runs over the almost exposed blood vessels in the gills.
The latter way means it can breathe for a longer time perhaps.
On the other hand it should only be overnight.
It's been out in open air all day I think. [/b][/quote]
Surface area is the key, so more oxygen can infuse into the water once he's had his fill. A bowl would probably be better than a bucket, as long as he couldn't escape I s'pose.
But I reckon if you put him in a bath of cold water then he'd definitely be okay til the morning, btw i really want to see a picture of him now
