You shouldn't have to pry out the battery.
It is retained with a little spring clip...pushing in the clip pops the battery right out.

Well you could try what I did the other day. I dropped a metal screw in the case. If you can believe it ,while putting the case on it's side to retrive the bloody thing . I reset the cmos .Scared the hell out of me, on a reboot. I swear I pulled the power cord too.
Edit : Was installing a PCI card .

i've had screws, heatsync, all sorts of stuff fall on my video card WHILE IT WAS RUNNING and nothing happened any of the times.![]()
