I would like to call for a poll for a 'Shout Box' at the top of the lounge. What do other members think? Something similar to Bigboab's Chat Bar only a lot better.

It is a place at the top of the 'Lounge' where you can 'talk' to anyone who is online without posting in a thread. It is mostly one line comments and replies. Helps members who come online and dont wish to post in a thread and cant be bothered with the hassle of PM's when they just want to say hello to someone.Originally Posted by bujub22

Personally I think a Shout Box is a bad idea, they are too messy. Our friends, the moderators, probably wouldn't appreciate the extra work either.
Have a poll, see what people think and then just wait and see if admin can do anything.

Moderating a shoutbox is actually easier than moderating ordinary posts. But I see your point and Dans. Why change a habit of a lifetime and listen to members.Pretty much my first thought.

I think it works okay on Rikk's forum because members there get on for the most part. Here, so I've heard, there is friction between some members and a larger base of members to manage.Moderating a shoutbox is actually easier than moderating ordinary posts.
