I have downloaded a .asf file form kazaa.

But when i try to play it in WMP i cant jump forwards using the mouse. If i try to go to an other part of the movie it just jumps back.

Do I need an other codec or should i try it with an other player. I have also tried winamp and bsplayer but they cant even play the file.

sorry no media player can get around this.

I think this was the last asf file i downloaded.

.asf files are special formats only compatible with win media player.

So win media player is the ONLY player that will play this sort of file.

U shud be able to scroll forward and back... So i dunno why urs will not. But u are certainly using the correct player and all the codecs and shit are correct so theres nothing wrong there.

Excuse me for my ignorance, but doesn't BSPlayer also supports .asf files?
That's what it says here.

And I believe Media Player Classic also supports .asf files.

you could try indexing them with asftools or

use wmp 6.4 it will jump anywhere in the file .
