Thread: no sound frm wmp 10

    hi, when i try play a song using wmp 10, there is no sound. i have re-started my pc, i get the start up music etc, so my speakers are working but the player has gone all quiet, any ideas...

    didnt think people still use wmp




    anyway did that resource hog use to work???

    Are you certain that the player is set correctly to use the audio device you set?



    tools>options>devices tab>properties

    See if your current sound card is listed and set as the default.



    See that your speaker wires are plugged-in correctly or that "mute" is not set as the default playing option. Or even sillier, see that the volume slider on the player is where it should be. Always a good idea to eliminate the obvious before delving into some of the more complex reasons as to why this is happening.

    In the player make sure the volume thing isn't set wrong. (At the bottom of player next to Play, Stop, etc.).

    Otherwise try reinstalling maybe?

    thank you everyone, and yes rossco it might have been a good idea if i had checked my volume control. derrrr!!! dumb old me!!
