English Literature

Hi everybody !

In England, what kinda stuff can i do when im older with English Literature qualifications ?

I really like the subject, but i don't really know what to do with it ( assuming i pass).

I'm doing a degree in English and I don't have a clue of what I'm going to do with it when I finish.

Apart from, maybe, follow manker around and correct his grammer...

English Literature is so broad in scope, that qualifications in it are also broad in scope when deciding on a career direction.....

I don't know why he is so worshipped by teachers, when they are so many other fantastic writers to choose from.

At least Chaucer had a sense of humour.

Shakespeare had humour !

I'm reading Twelfth Night, and I find it funny Don't really know why, but I do.

Maybe it's because of there names..... who calls their child Sir Toby ?

I read it for my for GCSE's.
We had do write our own adaptation of it.
Jeez, he bores me.

He just flowers his sentances with pretty words.
Damn drunkard couldn't even spell.

I loved Coleridge, he was a complete head trip.
"The Rime of the Ancient Mariner", and "Kubla Khan" rocked.
Oh, to be back at school.......

I really don't get , reading books, it bores the hell outta me, prolly cos I can't read very quickly

Awwwww Jonno man, dont admit that.
Everyone should read a few books a year.

Admittedly, I haven't read a new one for ages.
But at the mo, I am on;
Trainspotting - Irvine Welsh (chuffing brilliant, the 4th time round!)
TheTao Of Pooh - Benjamin Wolf (simple Taoism for simple people.)
and
The Poisoned Embrace - Lawrence Osborne (Brief History of Sexual Pessimism)

12 years ago
Since then I've only read instructional books like for bikes and guitars etc

Gotta find you a copy of Tao Of Pooh.
I swear you would love it.

I generally read a Chapter every so often, to calm me down.
It changes your perspective of life, just go with the flow.

(and it even has a few pictures in there. )

shakespeare can be funny, you just need to use your imagination like we did with "a midsummer nights dream" by acting as though the characters were gay. our teacher thought it was funny, but some people thought i fitted the role too well...
