    right click task bar>properties>start menu>customize>advanced
here you can change around a lot of the stuff on teh start menu.

for the pic, in paint there will be little dots in teh corners of the pic. go to teh bottom right and drag teh dot up until it touches the bottom corner of the start menu bit. it just cuts off all the white.

i fixed the pic problem but not the folder one. it just has options to show folders like my docs, my music, etc. u cant add you own files. i tried the drag an drop option but thats for the recent apps list i think. any other ideas?

as far as I know, that section of the XP start menu is not customizable.
you can pin whatever you like to the 'frequently used programs' section of the start menu, or organize your 'All Programs' folder, but that's about all.

There is a crack in everything.
That's how the light gets in.

oh sorry i thought u were trying to get rid of what was there, since that's what i always do.

Just disable teh frequently used programs list in those options i sent you to then you can drag programs to where recent programs used to be.

i dunno of any better way since the right column of the start menu is restricted
however, instead of putting on the right column...why not put ur folder on the Left column?

just drag ur folder there and it should work
