    Not sure.

I got Java from the Sun website (I needed the SDK).

No it does not have it.

It is becoming obsolete software, they dont support it anymore.
Go for the Sun Java JRE.

The M$ Java Virtual Machine has some security issues too,
which should make ppl think twice before installing, or actually running
    Java all over the place.

And, for example, Azureus is software that dont run with M$ Java, it will need SUN JRE.
So I'd say go for the SUN JRE, (which is oversized imo) and you'll be
    able to run your Javas.

I dont think it can be "slipstreamed" onto SP2.
It still (m$-java) comes together with SP1,
or the SP1a, there.s 2 versions of those because of the Java thing,
cant remember which one was it that has the Java, but if you slipstream the SP2
anyhooo, it does not have the msJava, they dont support it at all anymore.

Personally I think the SUN JRE is wayyy too heavy, about 50MB or so, for just
java runtime libraries, it has too much other unneeded crap with it,
    like most of apps today...
Java Webstart anyone? wtf, no thanks, and why on earth they have to install crap on
the Windows boot is beyond me...
Same goes with Adobe, and Nero, and bunch of apps,
its a hassle to clean up the boot everytime you install something.

    Ok, hehe, back on Java:
Get the latest Microsoft Java VM Build 3810 Repacked (it has the latest update on it)
MSFN-UnAttended if you really must have that, but some Java apps wont work until you install the SUN JRE anyways.

Yeah, you could install both, but whats the point?
Its like having Notepad and Wordpad at the same time too,
    he he he...

(btw, that site is really cool about Slipstreaming WinXP etc. the best imo)

microsoft got a big slap on the wrist for writing their own watered down version of java. thats why i dont think they make it any longer.

the sun version is way too heavy as GS says but its the only real version available.

the sdk (software develeopers kit) is only for developers the jdk (java runtime enviroment) is all the average home user needs.

True. Microsoft's version sucks ass. I downloaded the one off of Java sun website. Way better. I recommened not getting the beta one. But the stable package, cause I know alot of Java software isnt compatable with the new beta one.
    blah blah blah... whatever...
