    Hi Guy's,
    A while ago I was told that WMP 9 contained spyware.

    Do any you know if this is true?

    Yes.. it's containes spyware which sends informations about your computer..

    use/run Ad-aware or spybot to find this spyware and u can delte it if u want... it's does'nt harm ur pc..

    Thanks for the reply

    I do have Ad-Aware 6 pro already so I may give that a go. I'll try to find the file rather than let windows update do it.

    Really? I thought as long as you unchecked the send information type things in the options it didn't send anything. I've run Spybot many times for other stuff but it never picked up anything about WMP except the normal usage tracks you get with every application.

    Ya know skillian, since adaware 6 came out I have been trying spybot first and then running ad-aware. AA6 picks up something spybot didn't almost every time. I'd look in to making a switch or running a similar experiment yourself.

    I rarelly use WMP9
    for video or audio cause it uses 34K memory usage
    whereas winamp uses 5K and the old Mediaplayer uses 3,6K
    All these are without them playing anything.
