That sounds beautiful. Nothing like an evening out to celebrate living life together. Happy for you.

    Chilli (Serves 4).

4 tbsps olive oil, heat on full until hazed
    Add 1 onion, chopped, coarse
    Add 1lb lean steak mince

Stir and turn until browned off

Add 2 tins chopped tomatoes, 1 tin baked beans, 1 tin kidney beans
    Stir in

Add 4-5 dried jalopenos, 2 tspns hot chilli powder (for colour), 3 tspns cumin
    Stir in and boil

Bring down to a simmer, covered for 2 hours. Stir every 20 minutes.

20 minutes from serving, take 2 mugs wholemeal rice and place in caserole dish. Add boiling water, covering rice by 1/2 inch. Microwave on full power (850W) for 10 minutes, stirring after 5 minutes. The rice should be moist and fluffy but not swimming in water. If swimming, microwave for another 3 minutes on full power.

Let rice rest for 10 minutes and serve with chilli, plain nachos, parmesan and greek yoghurt.

Cheap, tasty and guaranteed to impress.

I will try, but some mixes i use are not available in your country.

Most likely i adjust the recipes for international use.

My beans on toast > Yogi's heart attack on a plate.
I plan on beating him to death with his kids. I'll use them as a bludgeon on his face. -
