Thread: Smart FTP errors

    I have this error whenever i try logging onto anything in SmartFTp, also get this when i try going on anything starting with ftp. through browser

    No connection could be made because targets machine actively refuses it


    any suggestions on ways to solve? cause at the moment i cant access my site

    You mean you have problems connecting to *any* ftp site? Maybe you have to set your firewall/router if you have one. Try setting your FTP client to be "passive" and see if it works around your problem.

    My firewall and everything still has it same settings as before, and i cant download from any ftp sites and i cant log onto any ftp. Its causing serious problems. ANy suggestions?

    Check that your XP firewall is switched off... it doesnt like smart, and some installations appear to switch it back on for some reason.

    I use WS FTP Pro and havent had trouble like you describe...
    Maybe time for a switch?
