A firewall is either a software or hardware that "blocks" mainly hackers and trojans, (among other things) from entering your PC

Do you need one?? If u'r using kazaa then U'r letting strange ppl acces your HD....what do you think? (tip:yes)

That depends on the firewall...the Norton 2003 firewall uses quite a bit of memory, so if U'r looking for a "economic" one go with Zone Alarm

In my experience Norton Firewall 2003 is the best (get Norton Internet Security 2003 of Kazaa ) but ZoneAlarm is also good and easy to use...there are TONS of firewalls to choose from tho...

If U'r talking about the "firewall" tab....don't bother, U don't have to change anything there at the moment...check the FAQ for a detaild description of each end every function in the Options menu...

p.s: Also, get a antivirus ASAP if U don't have one!! I mean NOW!

a good firewal will check all outgoing and incoming traffic

they should not take up to much cpu power.
On a p2 300 mhz i have noticed no difference with it on or off.

try agnitum outpost it is top notch and free.
