Some Dutch friends came over and told me he died a week or two ago

Mr Hazes is one of Hollands cliche music icons which caus tears and joy in bars with alot of bleach blonds and happy beer bellied guyz - doing the swinging motion while holding beer & singin outa tuun

His songs are household words and part of Core Dutchness

I also heard
His Funeral was in the Ajax Stadium in A'dam


he died of cardiac arrest so it is said
he was known to be a hardcore Heineken fan in the last years of his life
(there were jokes about his funeral being sponsored by Heinken)
