ive noticed that all of my 3 cd drives have a slot for headphones, but when i play music either on the PC or from an inserted disc there seems to be no sound form the headphones, so what is the point in them being there?

is it possible to get them to work?

    help would be appreciated

You can always just plug them straight into the sound card.

It only works with regular audio discs and i think only when you're using analog sound. (very rare with modern computers).

basically the headphones jack is useless.
