Whats the best file compressor

Well ive seen some programs that come with games compressed so far like it was origionally 5 gbs compressed to like less then 1 gb and they didn't use the common compressors it would open up in like dos or something.

That's UHARC. It's a bit hard to use though.

I like to use WinRar. Make sure the compression method is set to best, create solid archive is checked and the dictionary size is 4096KB.

i used winrar and compressed this file all it did was go 7 mbs down and the program was 100 mbs so it sucks!!

Well you haven't supposed to compress a file which has already been compressed....

I use the 7zip compression extension in IZArc (freeware). It can compress in 11 different formats & decompress over 30 different extensions.

What does create solid archiv do?

Solid is an archive packed using a special compression method which sees all files as one continuous data stream. Particularly advantageous when packing a large number of small files.

I like to use WinACE as it decompresses a lot of different formats and compresses to a few of them as well.

But it's not as good as what you're looking for, it will only take off a couple percent of the file's size.
