Perfect Blue (1995 movie) > i haven't watched it but my friend has and both he and imdb () have said it is the best psychological thriller as far as anime goes..

I would definitely say Berserk is just an amazing anime start to finish. gungrave is also a great story, .hack//sign has flashes of brilliance, but is to caught up in its own story and gets really boring at points. Champloo is incredibly done, but in terms of perfection, Bebop is it, i don't know if i could recommend anything better than Bebop

Noone here a fan of Hikaru No Go?
Its definitely on my top 3. One of the few animes that really kept me coming back for more. Other "page-turner" type animes i can recommend are 12 kokuki and Gungrave.
