Radio legend John Peel died earlier today whilst on a working holiday in Peru.

I loved John Peel. I'm deeply saddened by his passing.

    I'm completly gutted.
John was a legend, most versatile D.J of our time.
Love his "dottiness" and soft spoken voice.

I shall definatly be leaving a message in his tribute pages.

    God bless.

The man was a legend and will be sorely missed by all who ever had the privilege of hearing his radio show or seeing him DJ live.

To say this is a big loss to British Music is a massive understatement!!!!

I think it would be more appropriate to say a big loss to the music world as a whole. You have to remember, he did not start his radio career in the UK and thanks to web radio and various CD releases, he stretched far beyond the UK.

Damn why are you being so pedantic on a thread like this?? You could've just said "he'll be missed around the world" but you had to nitpick. I think it's only gone to reinforce the fact that you are an idiot.

Actually, I was reaffirming what you said. No need to be childish and call people an idiot.

I heard about this on the radio, died of a heart attack.

He was with radio one from the beginning in 1967.

    He'll be missed.

Yes, the last of the original Radio1 DJs not farmed out.
He brought many artists out from obscurity, today is a most sad day for British music.
Now he can have his Teenage Kicks for Eternity.
    RIP JP.
