So, everytime I try running windows update (V5, to be exact), I always get to the point where it says I'm downloading the files, but when it starts to install, it says FAILED for each file.

    What the hell.

    Any ideas?

Ive had the same error happening for 2 days, then I turned on "automatic-updates", rebooted and when i connected to the net, it automatically downloaded Service pack 2.
Bill Gates fucked it up again i suspect

I can't even get that far. In fact, I've gotten "The page cannot be displayed." for every site I've tried, MS or not.

The error I seem to be getting when I check C:\Windows\WindowsUpdate.log is 0x8024000c.

I googled that error, and I don't get much as to what the fuck I'm really supposed to do.

    /me is confused/aggrevated.

I've had trouble in the past with Sygate firewall blocking the install phase of Windows Updates.
Temporarily disabled the firewall and WU worked again.

    Hope that helps.
