It started snowing just before I went out.
Th car looked cute, but it was chuffing cold.

@ Afronaut...didn't you know that talking about the weather is one of the top most popular topics for conversation in the UK???

Besides, when I lived in Boston, that was real snow....my daughter named the sides of the streets where the snow piled up, as snorridors. This was after the 27 inches we got in one night! This of course had piled up on top of the several feet we had already accumulated....Brilliant!!!

The temps were regularly -20F but the cold was different, drier and sunnier. It didn't feel as bone chillingly cold it does in the damp British climate.
