Thread: norton ghost /system works

    I was under the impression that norton ghost was on system works. So I downloaded system works last night, but no ghost.

    Is this the case?

    I dont know, I got the Symantec Norton Ghost 8.

    Works fine for me.

    jsut download Norton Ghost 2003 or whatever the latest version is...no need to get the rest of the stuff if that's what you want.

    I used to have this installed when I was using Systemworks 2003 Pro. "Ghost" was just another needless application comsuming resources at startup and another goofy-looking icon in my tray, IMO. That and "Goback".

    For the sheer ease it takes to reformat your system (especially on XP), I would not even bother installing this part of Systemworks during setup. Create a seperate partition for storage and backup on your harddrive instead. Save the drag on your memory.

    Get 9, its out for more then 3 months, and it doesnt needs to be rebooted to make full backups also, u can continue your backup seesions (for changes instead of making whole new backup), the only thing i didnt like is u must restore using a norton recovery disk(same installition disk works too) and this time u have comperssion methods too(splitting to particular sizes).

    anyway back to main topic, u may choose to install ghost from the installition menu or mybe u had norton ghost before installing NSW and it was unitalled.
