hmm.
did you download aida32? see what it says about the cpu as well.
maybe run some benchmarks and see how they compare to other 2400+ processors.

I have a friends computer here ,that I working on . I set to optimal settings . Went from @XP 1100 to XP 2500 were it belongs !But then again depends on the mobo.

What CPU speed shows up in the System Properties window?
Click the Windows Key + Pause/Break to show System Properties.

Maybe a BIOS issue. You could check with the makers website for a BIOS update.
But don't worry about it too much. It's running as it should.
