im trying to play my mate at star wars battlefront in a few hours - but when he tried earlier gamespy wouldnt let gim play online, saying 'invalid cd key'
we are both playing dowloaded copies of the game. do you have to have a special crack cd key? or apply a patch of somehting to let you play online?
any help in the next few hours would be greatly appreciated lads

99% of copied games will not play online. You need a unique cd-key for that, and the only way to get this is to purchase it. You may get lucky and find some cracked servers but they are few and very far between.
My rule of thumb is this:
If I intend to play the game online, I'll buy it. If I don't, I'll d/l it, BUT if I enjoy the game I'll buy it (but it had better be something amazing).
