i'm confused, do u really mean modem, or do u mean an ethernet adapter/hub/switch?

i've never really seen the 10/100Mps used to describe a modem. Maybe i've been under a rock too long.

If you mean an ethernet adapter, they can be really cheap, like £4 ($6), i've seen hubs at £10-15,($20) and switches for about £20. ($27)A switch is best if you are networking more than say 3 computers togethers, as a hub generates too much traffic.

Sorry, no links, i'm tired and going to bed again, but i'm sure you can find even better deals than those.

    Modem...

I have a network card, and a hub, and am on a small network, the dsl modem we have now only supports 100kbs down and 15kb to 20kb up

BUT my internet connection supports 1280 kbs down, and something like 500 up

So I need to buy the modem extra, it was supposed to come with the package but they screwed us so yeah :-/

    EDIT:

    And it is 10 mbits

but winxp says its 100mbits connection, lol
