Thread: Nec 3500 firmware update

    I bought this dvd-burner on newegg.com and the firmware of it is 2.16.
    On the American site of NEC they have the 2.17 firmware update while on the european site they have 2.18. So i was thinking to install the european one.
    My question would be if it was safe to install the european one since i live in the usa, and would it break anythin if i did so?

    Why do you want to flash the firmware to begin with? Isn't the burner already working properly?
